Site Layout & Zoning

The compound is zoned into radiological, power, cryogenic, control, and support areas to control access, dose, and hazards.

Site layout organizes the installation into zones that separate hazards, control access, and keep operations efficient. The reactor hall is the innermost controlled zone; power conversion, cryogenics, control, and utilities radiate outward with graded access and protection.

Zone principles

Access and egress

Access is graded: routine operations touch only the outer zones; the reactor hall is entered under radiological controls during outages. Egress routes, muster points, and emergency access for responders are designed into the plan, along with a hardened control building for continuity during upsets.

Low-signature footprint

Consistent with the Aegis mission, the compound is compact and screened, with restrained thermal and acoustic plumes and hardened services. Zoning also supports physical security: the highest-value and highest-hazard areas sit behind the most layers of the compound.

The layout is designed against the frozen linear machine geometry; the installation is a design-stage engineering plan.
