What Fusion Cannot Do Yet

Being honest about fusion means saying plainly what no fusion machine — including ours — can do today, not only what ours is designed to do.

The honest state of the art

Fusion is real physics and an unfinished engineering problem. Being honest about Kronos requires being honest about the field. Today, no fusion machine anywhere delivers sustained net electricity to a grid. Kronos's machines are design and simulation studies; construction of the first begins in 2027. Nothing here changes that baseline.

Why we say the hard part out loud

A reader who only hears what our machines are designed to do, and never hears what the field cannot yet do, will over-estimate how close the finish line is. Placing our program honestly inside the real state of fusion is more useful — and more durable — than presenting it as if the surrounding problems were solved.

Our distinctive claim is narrower and truer: the breeder's product is isotopes and neutrons, which fusion gain can make before net electricity is solved. That is a real path, and it does not require pretending the rest is finished.
