Honest competitive framing means every option — ours and others' — is scored on the same criteria, from public sources, with the same standard of evidence. A comparison that quietly holds competitors to a harder test than it holds us is advocacy dressed as analysis.
Our rules for competitive claims
- Every cell traces to a public, citable source — lawsuit-safe and reader-checkable
- Rivals are scored on their stated design points, not caricatures of them
- We distinguish scientific gain (Q_sci) from engineering / net-electric gain when comparing devices
- We name our own open questions in the same table as everyone else's
Our honest wedge
Our distinctive position is not that we have beaten the physics others are still working on. It is that the breeder (Hyperion) sells materials — tritium, helium-3, and neutron services — which need fusion gain, not net-electric output. That decouples early value from the net-electric milestone that the whole field, ourselves included, has not reached. Stated that way it is a real advantage; stated as 'we win' it would be false.
Crediting a competitor's genuine strength costs nothing and buys the reader's trust. A comparison in which we win every row is not a comparison; it is a poster.
