Why Fusion Is Humanity's Dream
Powering ourselves the way stars do is an old aspiration; naming it honestly means separating the dream from the unfinished engineering.
An old and specific aspiration
The dream is concrete: draw energy from the same reaction that lights the sun, using fuel from water and rock, without combustion or long-lived heavy-element waste. It has drawn scientists for generations because it promises a clean, dense, fuel-abundant source. We share that aspiration. We also insist on keeping it separate from claims about what any machine has actually done.
The dream is not proof. Both Kronos machines are design and simulation studies. Saying 'fusion is humanity's dream' is a statement about why the work is worth doing, not evidence that it is finished. Conflating the two is the exact overreach we try to avoid.
What is genuinely dream-worthy
