Firm power where fuel logistics are a liability
Fixed installations often depend on delivered fuel and long supply lines, which are both an emissions source and a vulnerability. A firm clean source generated on site changes that equation: continuous power without a fuel convoy and without combustion. Aegis is the burner housing studied for fixed defense installations — not naval platforms.
Aegis: the fixed-installation burner
Aegis and MetroVolt are two housings of the same burner (Aegis / MetroVolt), the D-3He tandem-mirror generator with a 26.49 T plug and direct energy conversion. Aegis targets fixed sites where reliability and reduced logistical dependence matter. Its low neutron fraction (5.44%) and direct conversion shape a favorable environmental profile relative to a purely thermal machine of similar output.

The environmental relevance is that reducing fuel logistics reduces both emissions and disturbance associated with moving and burning fuel. As with all our claims, this is conditional on the burner closing; Aegis is a design and simulation study, not built hardware, and depends on a helium-3 supply that does not yet exist at scale — see helium-3 and the planet.
