The Public 3D Model

A public build of the machine's 3D model lets anyone inspect its geometry, while sensitive detail stays behind a clearly drawn line.

Seeing the machine, not just reading about it

Kronos publishes a 3D model of the machine so that its geometry can be examined directly, not only described in text. The public build exposes the parts of the design that support external understanding and vetting; a private build retains the full detail. The split is explicit, so no reader is misled about what the public model does and does not show.

Why strip rather than hide

Hiding detail behind a viewer setting is not protection — the data is still shipped. The public build instead removes sensitive geometry before release, so what is not shown is genuinely not present. This is the same principle as the verify function: the boundary is a property of the artifact, not a promise about how it will be viewed.

Openness with an honest edge

Publishing a real, inspectable model — while stating clearly where the public line falls — is more credible than either hiding the machine or pretending everything is public. It matches the license split described in the license-choice rationale and the firewall in what we don't publish.

You can look at the machine. Where you cannot, we say so plainly rather than blur it.
