The Kronos machines today are design and simulation studies: the breeder (Hyperion) and the burner (Aegis / MetroVolt). No hardware net-gain has been demonstrated; construction of the first breeder is planned to begin in Q2 2027, with first-of-a-kind first tritium targeted around 2030.
An ordinary morning
Picture a weekday decades from now. The air over the city is clear enough to see the hills; the streets are quiet because the traffic is electric. Homes are warm from clean electric heat, water runs from a tap supplied partly by clean desalination, and the grid has not had a dirty hour in years because firm clean generation covers the still, dark stretches that once ran on gas.
This is a sketch, not a forecast. It is included to make the abstract concrete — to show what the properties described across this section add up to in a single lived day. Every element traces back to a real claim on another page; none of it is a promise about a specific year.
