The Model as Design Record

The 3D model is a versioned design and simulation record of two unbuilt machines, not a depiction of existing hardware.

A record, not a photograph

The most important thing to understand about the Kronos 3D model is what it is a record of. It is the current design state of two machines that do not yet physically exist. Hyperion and the burner are design and simulation work. Construction of the first Hyperion unit begins in Q2 2027, and no hardware net-gain claim is made before the first-of-a-kind reaches first tritium around 2030.

Why a model can be a record

Because the geometry is bound to the frozen design parameters, the model captures a self-consistent snapshot: these shapes, these fields, these layer thicknesses, computed together. That snapshot is a citable artifact in the same sense a drawing set is. It can be versioned, compared against a prior state, and checked against the published physics.

What it commits to

What it does not claim

The model never implies operation. There is no rendered plasma glow standing in for a demonstrated shot, no dial reading out a measurement that has not been made. Where a value is a target rather than a result, the callout says target. This restraint is what lets the model be trusted as a record.

Honesty as a design choice
