How to Read the 3D Model
A short guide to selecting components, reading callouts, and moving between the exterior, cutaway, and exploded views.
Reading conventions
The model uses one consistent grammar across both machines. A single click selects a component and pins its label. A second click on empty space deselects. Selected parts brighten while the rest of the scene dims, so you always know what you are looking at.
The callout panel
Each selection opens a callout panel with four fields: the component name, its role in one line, its principal measurements, and the material class. Measurements are given in SI units, with millimeters for wall and blanket layers and meters for the machine envelope. Magnetic fields are in tesla, currents in mega-amperes.
View modes
- Exterior: the sealed machine as it would stand assembled.
- Cutaway: a section plane removes half the geometry so you can see the layered build from plasma outward.
- Exploded: components separate along their assembly axis to show stacking order and interfaces.
Moving in the scene
Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and use the reset control to return to the canonical three-quarter view. On the breeder the natural pivot is the machine centerline; on the burner it is the long axis running through both plugs. A scale reference stays visible so parts never lose their true size.
Honest labels
Callouts state design values and their conditions. Where a number is a simulation result rather than a measured one, the panel says so. The model never implies the machine has been operated. It shows what has been designed and computed, and it flags the physics gates that remain before hardware demonstrates net gain.
