A defense-grade program needs a traceable, resilient, and secure supply chain for critical components.

The plant is only as trustworthy as its parts

Critical components — superconducting conductor, code-stamped structures, tritium-system materials — must come from qualified sources with documented provenance. Supply-chain assurance covers three concerns at once: quality (parts meet spec), resilience (parts are available when needed), and security (parts are what they claim to be, free of tampering or counterfeits).

Why it links to readiness

Manufacturing readiness assumes the inputs exist and are trustworthy; supply-chain assurance is what makes that assumption real. The FOAK-NOAK-BOAK sequence also matters here — early units surface supply-chain bottlenecks so they can be resolved before fleet volume. For a resilient sovereign-power role, the supply chain behind the plant must itself be resilient, which is why sourcing is treated as part of the readiness posture rather than a procurement afterthought.
