Open papers, open data, open licenses, and permanent identifiers exist so that anyone -- not only reviewers we choose -- can check the work.

Scrutiny should not need our permission

Formal peer review depends on reviewers we or a journal select. We go further by making the work openly checkable by anyone: papers, the data behind them, and the analysis, deposited under open licenses with permanent identifiers. The standard is that a skeptic should be able to check us without asking us.

The materials we make open

• The papers describing each machine and its physics basis.
• The data and analysis behind the headline numbers.
• Permanent DOIs so the record is stable and citable.
• Open licenses so others may reuse and re-run the work.

Why open scrutiny is stronger than private review

A private reviewer can be tired, rushed, or outside their specialty. The open community is larger, more varied, and more persistent. Someone we never met, with exactly the right expertise, may find the flaw a formal reviewer missed. We prefer that outcome to a clean review that let an error survive.

This is the same commitment that governs our honest gates. We do not just tolerate scrutiny of the burner (Aegis / MetroVolt) and breeder (Hyperion) numbers; we build the record so scrutiny is easy, because the fastest way to earn trust in an unbuilt design is to hand skeptics the tools to test it themselves. Open scrutiny is slower to flatter and quicker to catch error than any private process, and for an unbuilt design that trade is exactly the one worth making.
