Grid Interconnection
Even on a co-located site the burner ties to the grid — for backup, for exporting surplus, and to provide firm capacity where it is scarce.
On-site first, grid alongside
MetroVolt's primary power flow is machine-to-load on the same campus, but a grid connection remains valuable. It provides backup during unit maintenance, a path to export surplus when the load dips, and a way to deliver firm capacity into a constrained network. The power electronics present grid-standard AC at the on-site substation.
What the interconnection provides

A firm, controllable resource
Because the burner runs in steady state and its output is shaped by power electronics, it presents to the grid as a controllable, firm generator rather than an intermittent one. That is a different grid citizen than variable renewables — it can hold output flat, follow load within its design range, and contribute to stability. See firm dispatch and load following.
Interconnection details depend on the site and local network, and are outside the machine physics; what the machine provides is a firm, grid-compatible electrical source. Everything here is described qualitatively — no economic or market claims are made on these pages.
The point is architectural: the burner is designed to behave as a well-mannered, controllable generator on whatever network it connects to, whether it is primarily serving an on-site load or exporting to the wider grid.
