X-Point

The magnetic null where the separatrix crosses itself, steering exhaust to the divertor.

At the X-point the poloidal magnetic field vanishes and the separatrix forms a cross, directing edge plasma down the legs to the divertor targets. Its position is a key shaping parameter.
