Toroidal Field
The main confining field that runs the long way around a tokamak.
The toroidal field, produced by external coils, is the dominant confining field in a tokamak, running the long way around the torus. HYPERION's on-axis toroidal field is 8 T, rising to 16.84 T at the coils.
The toroidal field is the dominant confining field, running the long way around the torus, and its strength sets how tightly the plasma is held. HYPERION's is 8 T on axis, rising to 16.84 T at the REBCO conductor — the high-field frontier that lets a compact machine perform.
