Low-Activation Steel (RAFM)
Reduced-activation ferritic-martensitic steel designed to decay quickly after irradiation.
RAFM steels replace elements that would form long-lived isotopes, so that after irradiation the material decays to hands-on levels in decades rather than millennia. They are a leading structural choice for the neutron-heavy breeder.
