Nuclear Heating (KERMA)
The heat neutrons and gammas deposit throughout the machine.
KERMA quantifies the energy neutrons and gamma rays deposit as heat in materials, from the blanket to the magnets. Computing it is central to cooling design and to protecting the superconductors.
