Ion Temperature
How hot the fuel ions are; the temperature that drives fusion reactions.
Fusion rate depends on the ion temperature, since it is the ions that fuse. HYPERION runs at an ion temperature of 15 keV; the D–³He burner far hotter, around 90 keV, because its fuel demands it.
