Hot Isostatic Pressing

A bonding process that joins plasma-facing armour to heat sinks.

Hot isostatic pressing bonds materials under high temperature and pressure, used to join tungsten armour to copper-alloy heat sinks in first-wall and divertor components. It produces strong, void-free joints for high heat flux.
