Fuel Mixture Control
Holding the right isotope or D-to-³He ratio for optimum reactivity.
Fusion power depends on the fuel mix — the D–T ratio in the breeder, the D-to-³He ratio (x = 0.30) in the burner. Controlling it maintains peak reactivity and is part of the fuelling system's job.
