Fast-Wave Heating

An ion-cyclotron-range wave used to heat the plasma core.

The fast magnetosonic wave, launched in the ion-cyclotron range, penetrates to the core and heats ions or drives current. It is a mainstay RF heating scheme alongside neutral beams.
