Expander / End Tank

The region where a mirror's exhaust plasma spreads out before hitting an end wall or converter.

Beyond the end plug, the field flares into an expander tank so the escaping plasma spreads over a large area, easing the heat load and feeding the direct converter. It is where the burner recovers end-loss energy.
