Charge-Exchange Spectroscopy

A beam-based diagnostic of ion temperature and rotation.

By reading light emitted when beam neutrals charge-exchange with plasma ions, this diagnostic measures ion temperature, rotation and impurity density locally. It is a core beam-based measurement.
