The Fusion Hardware Behind Kronos's Founders

Kronos's founding scientists didn't just study fusion — they built it. Their hands-on record spans the record-setting Alcator tokamaks, the SPARC high-field tokamak, world-record research magnets, and steady-state D–³He fusion.

Plenty of fusion ventures have theorists. Kronos's founding scientists have something rarer: a hands-on record of actually building fusion machines and the magnets that make them work — the record-setting hardware of the field. It's the difference between a design on paper and a design by people who have done this before.

The thread is unmistakable: the high-field tokamak lineage (Alcator → SPARC → Kronos) and the low-neutron D–³He fuel physics that Kronos commercializes were built, in part, by the very people now designing MetroVolt. Their expertise is stamped on the 24.6 T magnet system and the D–³He fuel cycle.
