The 2026 paper series.
The Kronos publication set is two companion papers — one per machine — not a four-part series. Each closes its physics; only the breeder freezes economic structure.
- Paper 1
- HYPERION — the D–T breeder
- Paper 2
- The D–³He tandem-mirror burner
- Status
- Submitted to IOP · arXiv on posting
- Data
- Two open deposits (CC BY 4.0)
Earlier plans described a four-part series tied to the single-tokamak design. The frozen 2026 set is two companion papers, matched to the two-machine strategy.
- Paper 1 — breeder
- HYPERION's physics is closed (Q 3.076, 85.0 MW, 9.66 MA); its economics are frozen as structure, not absolute margins.
- Paper 2 — burner
- The tandem-mirror physics is closed at the Mode M closing point, stated with its plug-density requirement; economics stay provisional.
Everything traces to two open deposits, and the key results run in the live simulation. See the two 2026 papers for the fuller summary.
Correction noteSuperseded: the 'four-part series' belonged to the single-tokamak era. The frozen set is two companion papers.
