Shared picture, individual depth

The control room is organized around two viewing distances. A large shared video wall carries the common operating picture that every role must agree on — the 3D twin overlay, top KPIs, and the active alert. Individual consoles carry role-specific depth an operator works at reading distance. The wall keeps the team synchronized on one truth; the consoles let each role go deep without desynchronizing the room.

Roles and their views

Layout follows the information the role acts on. The plasma operator faces the shape/equilibrium console; the plant operator faces the P&ID-anchored SCADA; the safety operator has an unobstructed line to both the interlock display and the shared wall. Sightlines are arranged so the session leader can read every operator's primary console and the wall without turning away from the team.

Distance, contrast, and legibility

Type sizes and contrast are set for their viewing distance: wall glyphs are legible across the room; console text at desk range. Displays are theme-aware and readable under both bright and dimmed lighting, because control-room lighting changes across shifts. The reserved alert palette stays distinguishable at wall distance so an alarm is never lost against the ambient picture.

The physical room mirrors the digital hierarchy: the shared picture is authoritative and singular, exactly like the L1 control plane it supervises. This arrangement is validated in simulator mode against scripted breeder disruptions and burner excursions, and tuned against the cognitive-load budget. Off-console roles reach the same picture through mobile access.
