COOLANTS AND INSULATING MATERIALS
Helium (CIM-H-015): A noble gas with high thermal conductivity and low neutron absorption, used as a coolant to efficiently transfer heat away from critical reactor components, maintaining optimal operating temperatures.
Lithium (CIM-L-016): Used in breeding blankets for tritium production, lithium offers high thermal conductivity and efficient neutron capture properties, essential for sustaining the fusion reaction.
Lead-Lithium Eutectic (PbLi) (CIM-PbLi-017): A liquid metal coolant and breeder material that provides excellent heat transfer and tritium breeding capabilities, crucial for the efficient operation of the reactor.
Boron Carbide (B4C) (CIM-B4C-018): A neutron absorber used in shielding and control systems, offering high thermal stability and neutron absorption efficiency, protecting critical components from radiation damage.
Graphite (CIM-G-019): Known for its high-temperature resistance and thermal conductivity, graphite is used in thermal shields and structural components, contributing to the overall thermal management of the reactor.
